There were many great ideas and speaking styles discussed.

I found it very enlightening and educational. I listened to this on audio, and I could hear the pages being turned as he spoke. It was very distracting and it took away for what he was saying. Editing did not do their job on this audio book.

The book is all about how to make a good Presentation. Things to be prepare: - Content of the speech. It must have a clear purpose and strong message - Practice, practice, practice - Come early to double check Audio, Temperature, Seating The problem is how repetitive the info is.

It helps me realize that the only way to be better at speaking is just to Speak, Speak, Speak, Speak and Speak. Great book, recommended for public speaker This book cover pretty much everything on how to be a better speaker and communicator. However, it emphasizes more to public speaking. Not exactly the book you are looking for engaging people in social situation, sales, company's meeting, etc.

If you want to be a good speaker, you should learn from the best. Brian Tracy is one of the most renowned speakers in the world. This books authored by him told you how to be a good speaker. Best book on public speaking I found this book to be extremely helpful in learning the best practices of public speaking. Brian Tracy has never disappointed me with his books. I'll read it again and take better notes. May 23, Michael Reyes rated it it was amazing. According to Tracy, " Exellent Speaking is Learnable ". He then shares excellent and concrete advice all throughout the 12 chapters, giving clear examples and strategies to help the common man improve in the art of presenting. There are repeating thoughts throughout the chapters but I understand that it was done on purpose because each chapter is self-contained. One doesn't need to read the entire book as Tracy has sectioned the chapters to address whatever area you need help with completely.
I love the fact that Tracy's book alludes to The Art of War. If you've read Sun Tzu 's masterpiece, then you would see traces of it in Tracy's writing. I also love the fact that Tracy structures his writing the way he gives his speeches. Wonderful formatting, you know what to expect and can follow his points easily.
I highly recommend this book to would-be speakers or to people who are either venturing into public speaking, training or marketing. A very good book, but rather short - which gives you the impression that something is missing. Other than that, it is excellent. Not just a book about "speak with confidence," but a down-to-earth self-help book on speaking and presentations in general. It includes tips on how much to eat or not eat before giving a presentation.
Also a lot of advice on how to set up a room for a presentation and do's and don'ts concerning the set-up staff at hotels and other public meeting facilities. I'll A very good book, but rather short - which gives you the impression that something is missing. I'll probably read it again in a couple of months just to make sure I got everything.

A practical thing you can do when you are nervous about public speaking is imagining the people you are speaking to in their underwear or that they owe you money. I enjoy listening to Brian Tracy. He's so laid-back and cool-sounding - and delivers exactly what he preaches. Another great tool that I enjoy from time to time is tstn. I was already Familiar with a lot of the material he speaks about but yet it was a great blessing to hear again oratory points and it gave me new ideas to prepare myself through reading Shakespeare and going to plays.
